Since this is spring, there’s nothing lovelier nor more gorgeous nor more calming than to see my most beloved bruisers, Brick, Blossom, Butch, and Buttercup, looking nice and having a serene, lovey-dovey moment with each other in the forest. This piece of fanart is dedicated to all the shippers of Blossick, Butchercup, Brickercup, and Blossutch. Moreover, the character ages in this pic are Brick, 23, Blossom, 22, Butch, 23, and Buttercup, 22. Having to draw my favorite OT4 of all time proved to be easier said than done. Nonetheless, I accepted the challenge I bestowed upon myself. Character positioning was one thing but the one I really had to perfect was all of the hand positionings. Heavens, talk about having to decipher who holds who and I thankfully found my way around it. As if it were not already obvious, Brick has arms around Blossom with his left hand extending to hold Buttercup’s hand. Blossom has her left hand on Brick’s left arm, as her right hand is touching Butch’s hand. Butch has his left arm around Blossom’s shoulder and his right arm around Buttercup’s waist. And finally, Buttercup has her right hand touching Brick’s left hand, which is covered by Blossom’s long hair and has her left hand on Butch’s left shoulder. So, there you have it, my OT4 for life. As much as I really like to ship Brick/Blossom or Blossick and Butch/Buttercup or Butchercup, I find both Brick/Buttercup or Brickercup and Butch/Blossom or Blossutch to be equally as compatible, plausible, lovely, endearing, entertaining, and just plain awesome as the main color-coded shipping of the Reds and the Greens. I am fully aware that Blossick is shipped to high heaven, but here’s my take on this pairing. In my opinion, it’s a relationship based on trust, respect, understanding, letting go of any prejudices, and breaking each others’ walls down. When one combines Brick’s street smarts with Blossom’s book smarts, it’s a team-up to be reckoned with. Sure, Blossom has to put up with Brick’s abrasive attitude and occasional anger issues, and he has to put up with her tendency to overanalyze and overthink things. However, they seem to find common ground and iron things out, hopefully for the best. Plus, Blossom is the paradigm of morality and perfection, while Brick is the paradigm of ensuring an authoritative nature without question and impulsivity. While they might seem like the undisputed commanders and leaders on the outside, they might have their own crippling flaws on the inside, thus showing they are not perfect. In spite of their imperfections, they very much have to take them in stride not only as the eldest children of their brood but also as leaders and role models and acknowledge each others’ flaws and insecurities so that they can help each other improve without the need to be condescending nor bear any animosity whatsoever. Thus showing a relationship that over time can flourish into something more. Even more so, while Brick tends to think with his fists with a good amount of tactics, Blossom thinks with her head when planning an attack. In terms of whatever ills they had with each other in the past, they would end up forgiving each other and starting anew letting go of all the anxieties of the old and striving towards a better future. I am also completely aware that Butchercup is shipped to shipped to high heaven and here’s my take on it. Move over, Ranma and Akane! Get lost, Inuyasha and Kagome! Take a hike, Ataru and Lum! Because there’s a new Takahashi couple in town that will wipe the floor with their brand of belligerent sexual tension and overall volatility and that is Butch and Buttercup. I kind of see them as one of the Takahashi couples to end all Takahashi couples because of the fact that they are stubborn, hard-headed, volatile, and seem to be the type of people that will shout at each other one moment and make out in the next moment. It’s not like I have anything against these type of couples, with the exception of Inuyasha and Kagome, as I cannot stand how much dominance she thinks she has over him with the Beads of Subjugation, hence my deep-seated hatred for this pairing, it’s just that at times the Takahashi couple do tend to be entertaining but when their relationship status drags the plot along, it can be rather tedious to see the two characters as a plausible or healthy couple. You may be asking, why do I not like Inuyasha and Kagome as a couple, but like Butch and Buttercup together? Well, it all chalks down to Butch and Buttercup being the toughest and strongest fighters of their groups and, boy, do they do a lot of the fighting. So, being emotional or lovey-dovey or syrupy is completely out of the question, as I am sure that they are the type of people who have zero tolerance for anything saccharine. However, when they combine their combat prowess, it is definitely a team-up to be reckoned with, and their ritual as a couple would be pummeling criminals by day and making steamy love to each other by night. Inuyasha and Kagome, on the other hand, I could never get into this pairing because there are times that Kagome, in spite of her growing archery skills and her position as the main female protagonist, is often given the role of being the damsel in distress, and it’s usually up to Inuyasha to save her. While the usage of the Beads of Subjugation was meant as protection in the first half of Inuyasha, there were times in later episodes that they were used for petty punishment against Inuyasha, even if he did not deserve it. Thus, making Inuyasha’s and Kagome’s relationship kind of toxic, as Kagome comes off as domineering towards Inuyasha as the lapdog. The weather’s been getting warmer and sunnier here in Berlin. And for that, here’s my most beloved Rowdyruff of all time, Boomer on the beach, being the lovable, adorable, muscular dude that he is. Joining him are his most favorite young ladies of all time, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup. Blossom is rather fascinated by the size of Boomer’s left bicep and is astounded at his peak physical strength. Bubbles just loves having her beau around and, as the Joy and the Laughter of this superhuman group, she is so happy to have a wonderful, loving, caring, muscular young man like her darling Boomie in her happy life. Buttercup is rather impressed at how much muscle Boomer has and gives him a thumbs up. Meanwhile, Brick and Butch are in the background, as they are astonished of how their youngest brother can obtain a lot of attention from these babes. This piece of fanart is dedicated to all of the shippers of Blossoomer, Boomubbles, and Boomercup. So, I hope you all enjoy. As I stated before, I do fancy Blossoomer because of how endearing and sweet it is, as Boomer and Blossom seem to have a relationship based on trust, empathy, kindness, and healthy synergy. Mostly because this pairing has the simple yet sweet dumb muscle of a boy in the form of Boomer having a grand time with the articulate and diplomatic intellectual of a girl in the form of Blossom, which in turn makes this pairing plausible. I kind of like Boomercup because of the gentle giant and feisty tsundere who wears the pants in this relationship type of dynamic. This pairing is rather entertaining and kind of fun because of how these two seem to click. Finally, there’s my OTP Boomubbles. I don’t need to explain any further why I love this pairing, but for those of you not in the know what I think of it, I think it’s best and healthiest of the RRBxPPG pairings. The Blues have the sweetest, most endearing, and most lovely chemistry. Just their mere presence alone is enough to make me warm and fuzzy inside. Well, random Family Guy quote from the episode Lethal Weapons aside, looks like Brick and Butch are not the only ones to have such a mighty moment. Now, Boomer, Blossom, Buttercup, and Bubbles are here and growling like leopards, jaguars, and panthers to show why they should never be messed with. The answer is pretty obvious, they can open up a can of kickass before you know it. Furthermore, I just love it when Boomer teams up with his most favorite people in the whole world, his darling sisters-in-law, Blossom and Buttercup, and his beloved, lawfully-wedded wife, Bubbles. I can certainly smell the amazing camaraderie and chemistry all four of these superhumans have with each other. Even more so, when Brick and Butch are added, but that’s another story. Much like the previous work I did with Brick and Butch, Boomer is 25 years old, Blossom and Buttercup are 24 years old, and Bubbles is 23 years old. I decided to bulk Boomer up because I not only see him as a jovial yet misunderstood soul but also someone who is also reliable in terms of muscle. I bet you remember that scene in the episode “The Boys are Back in Town”, where the enlarged Boomer tore off a piece of construction work and bent it to make a hockey puck while making a cute and goofy face. Now that he’s all grown up, I envision him to be a much stronger individual, both physically and psychologically, actually grow a pair to stand up to his big bros, and even start a beautiful friendship with Blossom and Buttercup plus an equally beautiful relationship with Bubbles. Heck, he can even take both of his big bros down all thanks to the Mixed Martial Arts, wrestling, Muay Thai, kickboxing, jujitsu, and all the other martial arts they have down, as well as being in peak physical condition. In addition to that, I did make grown-up Boomer look like Ken Masters from the Street Fighter franchise, which I think makes him look all the more adorable. I can see Boomer’s relationship with Blossom as a combination of endearing, sweet, plausible, and genuine. Being the diplomat that she is, she would definitely break down his walls and reveal a nicer, kinder side to him. She would even be super supportive of Boomer going out on dates with Bubbles. Moreover, she would even tell him to stand up to his brothers and not even think about pushing him around anymore. Boomer would even tell Blossom to not take everything too seriously and just chill, as he does joke about her worry lines on her forehead in a charming way. With Buttercup, it’s the case of the gentle giant and the fiery, feisty tomboy. I see their relationship as playful, adorable, and funny. She would be the type of girl who would punch his powerful arms in a fun-loving and mischievous manner and he would be the type of guy who would give her noogies galore. On the long run, they would definitely enjoy each others’ company as sparring partners and there would even be times where Boomer would give Buttercup a massive bearhug with her gasping for air because of how super strong he is. Plus, Buttercup would be the one to further implement on how Boomer should stand up to his brothers and not always care what they think. Boomer would even tell Buttercup how cool she is to have around and would even shed her hardass, defensive and see that she can be a softie. Furthermore, she would also keep a vigilant eye on Boomer to ensure that Bubbles does not get hurt, lest he should he suffer a beating through her hands. Finally, I will say this once and I will say this again. I am a devout Boomubbles fan because their pairing is not only sweet but it’s actually the most plausible out of the color-coded and overall RRBxPPG pairings, in my opinion. They would be the pair who start letting go of their prejudices and finally see the light and become great friends as children, then hang out more when they reach tweenhood to teenhood, date in their teens, and be the first of their siblings to marry and start a family. I firmly believe that their relationship will end up as the healthiest and will be loving and supportive parents to their darling children. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Brick and Butch in a very intense moment. They’ve tapped into their feral state and a roaring their guts out, all while powering up like the brawny dudes that they are. I imagine Brick to be roaring like a lion, as he is a leader who rules with two iron fists, and Butch to be roaring like a Bengal tiger, as he is the muscle who loves to prowl around for a good fight. When I was making this, I kind of had this scene playing in my head similar to how Basuli and Tarzan scared the greedy businessman, Ian McTeague, away from the jungle with the power of their roars in the Disney’s The Legend of Tarzan episode, “Tarzan and the Poisoned River Part 2”. So, this is how it’s going to go, except with HIM swearing revenge against Brick, Butch, Boomer, Blossom, Buttercup, and Bubbles for foiling his dastardly plans of letting him be robbed of his ultimate form. In this scene, Brick, Butch, and Boomer are 25 years old, Blossom and Buttercup are 24 years old, and Bubbles is 23 years old. HIM (in a menacing tone): One day soon, I will destroy all six of you superpowered cretins and I will be the most powerful being left in Townsville. Brick: I can live with that. Butch: Me too. Brick and Butch: ROOOAAAAAAR!!!!!! (Brick’s roar is that of a mighty lion. While Butch’s roar is that of an angry tiger.) (HIM is terrified but just as he is about to flee, Brick blocks his path.) Brick: No you don’t! (He proceeds to give HIM a barrage of punches.) Yo, Butch! (Brick then passes HIM to Butch, who also gives him a good punching and kicking. After he is done, Butch puts HIM in a headlock. Brick then approaches with a rather menacing on his face.) Brick: Well, you demonic freak, do you give up? HIM: Never! Brick: Do you hear that Butch? I think he wants some more. (Butch lets go of his headlock. However, just as Brick and Butch are about to further pummel HIM, he flees finally surrendering.) Blossom: Good riddance to you, HIM! (Buttercup then approaches Brick and Butch.) Buttercup: I gotta say, bro-in-law and bae. For a couple of muscleheads, you certainly know how to give good, old HIM a taste of his own painful medicine. Brick: Hey, it’s the least we can do. Butch: Besides, where would you guys be without these babies?! (As Butch says this, he flexes his biceps.) (Bubbles chuckles, but Boomer and Buttercup are not totally impressed at Butch showing off.) Boomer and Buttercup: Oh, brother. (Brick knocks Butch on the head and he winces in pain.) Butch: What the heck was that for, bro? Brick: That’s for being a stupid showoff. (He then hears his stomach grumbling.) Man, all this fighting with HIM has made me hungry. What do you say we go out for pizza? It’s mine and Butch’s treat after all. Boomer: Radical idea, big bro! Blossom: Great! Buttercup: I’m game! Bubbles: So am I! (As the sun sets, Brick, Butch, Boomer, Blossom, Buttercup, and Bubbles head off.) Narrator: So, after a long day, our six superheroes walk away with joy and relief. So, once again the day is saved! Yes, I know Team Xtreme is kind of a lame superhero group name for the combined team-up of the Rowdyruff Boys and the Powerpuff Girls but it’s kind of the only one I have that sounds cool. I don’t think this measures up to Carriedreamer’s name for the six superpowered boys and girls in her fanfic, “As Time Goes By”, which by the way is absolutely amazing, being The X-Team. Hey, everybody! Antoni, here, back with another piece of my PPG AU fan art set in the Edo period of Japan. As promised, here they are. The Celestial Rulers, The Prince and Princess of the Heavens, The Steadfast Lord and his Lovingly Jovial Lady, Boomer-ouji-sama and Bubbles-hime-sama. Joining this lawfully wedded couple are their children, aka my fan-babies, the twins, Bailey and Barley, the middle daughter, Brittany, and the youngest daughter, Birdie. Man, I have been wanting to draw fanart of my most favorite of the RRBxPPG pairings, Boomer/Bubbles or Boomubbles, because of how not only plausible they are as a couple but also for how adorable they are together. Plus, the Blues seem to have the best chemistry, especially where fanon is concerned. While I do find the mixed pairings occurring with the Blues like Blossoomer to be cute, Boomercup to be kind of funny, and Brickubbles and Butchubbles to be sort of endearing in a platonic big guy protects little lady fashion, there is no denying that I really, really love Boomer and Bubbles together. In this AU, I wanted to heighten the feudal fairy tale aspect of this story by having Boomer and Bubbles as the celestial prince and princess as well as respectively being the high-ranking yokai lord and lady. Boomer is an amalgamation of Tsukuyomi the Shinto moon god, the Emperor and the Five Princes from The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter, and Zushonosuke from Tenshu Monogatari or Goddess of the Dark Tower from the anime anthology series, Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales. In Bubbles’ case, she is an amalgamation of Amaterasu the Shinto sun goddess, Princess Kaguya also from The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter, and Tomihime also from Goddess of the Dark Tower. In addition to that, I can see these two being the first of their respective siblings to marry and have children, in spite of the fact that they are the youngest. Eventually, the Reds and the Greens follow suit with a double wedding. Seeing as these two lovebirds are the youngest that means that their older siblings have to be not only their guardians but to also ensure their overall safety, as they maintain the natural balance of the heavens and of the earth. With that said, let’s talk about this couple individually as well as their darling children. Prince Boomer or Boomer-ouji-sama in Japanese, also known as the Lunar Prince, is the noble, peace-loving, kind-hearted, and emphatic male celestial ruler, who appears to be a young man between 25 to 26 years old. With his charming face, dashing features, and overall dignity as a nobleman, he radiates with a positive aura that makes his older brothers, his sisters-in-law, his wife, his children, and every person, deity, and creature cherish and love him. His main abilities are shooting lightning from his hands to his fingertips, levitation, super speed, and heightened combat skills. One should not be fooled by his infectiously sweet nature, as he will fight back using all of his might if ever anyone not only hurts him but also his wife, Bubbles, his sisters-in-law, Blossom and Buttercup, and/or his older brothers, Brick and Butch. Prior to obtaining the title of the Celestial Prince, Boomer was not always the person he was today, especially in his younger years. As the youngest brother, he was always on Brick’s and Butch’s shadows, as he did what they told him to do and were more warlike in everything they did. Boomer always knew deep down that he was not as much of a warrior compared to Brick’s choleric nature and Butch’s brute strength. As a matter of fact, he loathed the destruction his brothers were making not only in the heavens and in the earth, but also towards each other. Every waking day, he had to witness his older brothers tormenting each other over a disagreement and there were times that Brick and Butch almost fatally injured each other with their incessant beatdowns. Finally growing a backbone, Boomer decided that he wanted nothing more to do with their petty animosity and left them for a while to search for inner peace. One day in a quiet forest, as Boomer was becoming one with nature through meditation, he encountered a lovely, young maiden he knew ever since he was a child named Princess Bubbles. He always admired her not only for her beauty with her youthful and petite features, her infectiously radiant smile, and her overall positive aura but also for her kindness, her warmth, and her quickness to forgive. As he saw her combing her long blonde hair near a river, he shyly approached her and greeted her. Bubbles turned around to see Boomer right behind her and she easily recognized him, as she embraced him. To Boomer, his feelings for the young princess grew and he very much knew that he was destined for her. After meeting each other again, Bubbles re-introduced Boomer to her older sisters, Blossom and Buttercup, as the boy who was nice to her and sisters, unlike Brick and Butch. Blossom and Buttercup welcomed him with open arms and finally, Boomer did the nearly unthinkable by asking Bubbles’ hand in marriage. Bubbles was initially shocked, but Boomer assured her that he will be the most faithful husband ever. To prove his fidelity, he has to fulfill laborious tasks in order to marry Bubbles. Full of determination, he set off to travel to India to obtain the stone bowl of Buddha, to Horai Island to obtain the jeweled sprig, to China to obtain the robe of the fire rat, and to other parts of Japan to obtain the jewel from the dragon’s neck and the swallows’ cowrie shell. Despite the fact that the labors were tough, Boomer was able to accomplish each of them, as he gave the items to Bubbles. He also gave her one very special item that neither Heaven nor Earth can have and that was his kiss of…
Hello, once again. Antoni, here, and this is what happens when you are a fan of not only anime like Inuyasha and YuYu Hakusho and cartoons like The Powerpuff Girls but also of Asian folklore. Such as the case of the Four Holy Beasts, known in Japanese as Shishin, Shiju, Shishou or Shirei and in Chinese as Si Shou consisting of the dragon, the tiger, the turtle, and the phoenix. So, when I combined my fascination of the Four Holy Beasts and of Brick, Butch, Blossom, and Buttercup being turned into yokai, an idea for an AU or Alternate Universe retelling was born. From left to right we have Seiryu Brick, Byakko Butch, Genbu Blossom, and Suzaku Buttercup. Yes, I know the color coding is a lot more different for the Holy Beasts like Seiryu is blue, Byakko is white, Genbu is black, and Suzaku reddish-yellow but I decided to focus more on the traits which are appropriate for Brick, Butch, Blossom, and Buttercup, as I will explain when I talk about them individually. It should be no surprise that I am completely fascinated by the supernatural, especially when legends like this are adapted into anime or other creative works. I have encountered the Four Holy Beasts in anime like Yu Yu Hakusho, Inuyasha, and Fushigi Yugi, and each of these adaptations has something special to give to the table. For that, my fascination grew to the point where I was completely invested in knowing more about them. Going into my AU, I envision Brick, Butch, Blossom, and Buttercup in the Edo Period of Japan as the loyal and protective warrior guardians to their respective youngest siblings, who in turn are the Celestial Rulers, Prince Boomer on the guys’ side and Princess Bubbles on the girls’ side. Do not fret, for I will definitely take care of what Boomer-oujisama and Bubbles-himesama are going to look like. Even more so, they are all married, Brick is with Blossom, Butch is with Buttercup, and, obviously, Boomer is with Bubbles. Though, since the four main protagonists of this AU are yokai, they will end up switching partners from time to time like having Brick with Buttercup and Butch with Blossom, and on a more platonic tough love between siblings level Blossom with Buttercup and Brick with Butch. These four will go out of their to not only ensure their rulers’ safety but to also have each others’ backs when it comes to fighting demons or any other mortal who dares to be an intruder to the Celestial Realm. Brick, Butch, Blossom, and Buttercup work together as one team to combine their insurmountable powers for good and to maintain the natural balance of the world. With that said, let’s get on to the characters themselves. Seiryu Brick, also known as the Crimson Dragon, is the undisputed and choleric leader of this quartet of yokai warriors. He rules this group with an iron fist and more often than not has the final say in decision-making. As the overall eldest yokai, appearing to be about 26 years old, he ensures that his teammates not only do what he says but he also makes sure that they are safe from harm. His unparalleled skills in hand-to-hand combat, as well as his expertise in war, have certainly made Brick an ideal leader, as he can pinpoint his opponents’ strengths and weaknesses, thus using those facets to his advantage. Despite being a strong leader to his group, he is extremely prone to anger and runs the risk of being too demanding, especially when failure comes knocking at their door or when someone hurts any of his comrades. He is also prone to having clashes with his teammates from his younger brother, Butch, to his wife, Blossom, to his sister-in-law, Buttercup, when it comes to a disagreement in a plan or when power struggles occur between the four. In spite of some moments of strife, Brick deeply cares for his three comrades and he always has their backs. Brick’s main abilities are pyrokinesis, superstrength, especially when it comes to his lethal Fire Fist which can disintegrate any opponent with the drop of a hat and using his claws, which are sharp enough to slice through steel. Brick is definitely ideal for being a dragon yokai mostly because of his fiery temper, choleric nature, large-and-in-charge, and overall manly personality. I also figure that his personality and mannerisms are akin to a warlord or general who ensures order and will not take no for an answer. He also seems to be the guy who is harsh towards his enemies and rather tender to his friends, even though he does not always show it. In terms of his outfit, I let him have a dragon tattoo on the chest to the shoulder area and I also gave him something that is also akin to a big, strong warlord. His gauntlets and shoulder pads are made of dragon scales, which also serve as his armor. Even more so, his cape is a great addition, as it makes him a proud and noble warrior who leads with not only his fists but with loads of respect. Byakko Butch, also known as the Virescent Tiger, is the muscle of the group. He is also the savage one, as nothing can seem to tame him, unless his older brother, Brick, gives him a knock on the head, his sister-in-law, Blossom, admonishes him or his wife, Buttercup, soothes him in her own special way. As the second oldest in this group, also appearing to be about 26 years old, he also has a duty to share with Brick in ensuring that his comrades stay out of trouble. While Brick is the more analytical one in battle, Butch is the type of guy who just goes head-on without a second thought. His brute strength is what makes him both famous and infamous. Hey, everybody! Antoni, here, and I present to you all yet another piece of fanart I did with Brick, Butch, Blossom, and Buttercup aka The Reds and The Greens aka my four most favorite characters ever aka My Four Favorite Bruisers of All Time. What better way for these two couples, who happen to black belts in karate, judo, and several other martial arts, to start their day than with getting themselves into their gis, spar with each other, and culminate everything with a grand dragon flying kick to the dawn-hued heavens. In this pic, Brick and Butch are 25 going on 26, and Blossom and Buttercup are 25. Before getting myself to draw this, I had to be very specific on how the famous dragon flying kick looked like, as in where the arm and feet positions are. Plus, it’s one martial arts move that has fascinated me, whether I see this done in video games, anime, movies, or even see stunt people do this. In terms of positioning my dear friends, Brick, Butch, Blossom, and Buttercup, I had to make sure that each of them was seen. I originally intended their positioning to be in a sort of diagonal line. However, that would’ve been tough to accomplish. So, as a solution to fill up the sketchpad, I had the Reds be positioned on the left and the Greens positioned on the right, and the results were more than satisfactory. Plus, their gis and general attire were mainly inspired by the likes of Ryu and Ken Masters from the Street Fighter franchise because I happen to be a huge Street Fighter fan as well. I would also like to dedicate this picture to Blossom’s voice actress, Catherine Cavadini, who is celebrating her birthday today, as well as Buttercup’s, Butch’s, and Brick’s voice actors, Elizabeth Daily, Roger L. Hey, everybody! Antoni, here, and guess what. I’m on DeviantArt. For the longest time, I have mainly visited this site when I was a lad of fourteen and I have been getting a lot of creative inspiration from a lot of the fanart I saw. Even more so, I was initially hesitant to join DeviantArt because of certain dumb insecurities I had as an artist, in spite of the fact that I love to draw, especially fanart of my most favorite animated characters. Plus, I was still rather young, as taking criticism well was still in the development department, I only saw making visual art in terms of drawing as a hobby, and I thought that my drawing skills were very much not on par with those people who draw fanart on such a good to an exceptional level. However, as time went on, I kind of toyed with the idea of being on here because I have some really good reviewer and artist friends and some relatives who have an account on DeviantArt and are very passionate about what they do and what they love. For that, I say more power to them and everything they do. Yes, there is also some fetish art that I found usually involving characters getting abnormally fat or generally growing in size. Those are the art types I try to avoid, as they seem to promise empty creativity. I always strive to be inspired by fanart or original work which is not only creatively appealing but also enhancing and can cater to my love of animation. Thus, I finally made the decision to become a DeviantArtist not only to support the artists who have inspired me but to also bring my art pieces and passion to the table. Would I want to make my drawing of fanart a regular thing aside from the YouTube reviews and blog posts I write on Manic Expression, TeamNightSaturn, and Steemit? Probably, because on the one hand, I have a lot of ideas going on in my crazy yet creative mind that I see why not. I have always had an innate desire to draw my favorite character pairings or OTPs, BroTPs and the like from my favorite cartoons, anime, and video games because I have always seen the plausibility in terms of the character chemistry in these pieces of media. On the other hand, it might not be done so regularly because of the time I have to commit to making my fanart come to fruition in terms of not making my illustrations sloppy nor unfinished but polished and well-detailed. Even more so, I have other priorities to accomplish not only as a reviewer, artist, and performer but also as a student. In other words, it might as well be done in my free time, if ever I feel like it or if ever I feel inspired to just do something. With the fanart that I have so far as well as other ideas swimming on in my brain just wanting to be released, I thought it would be a great idea to be on DeviantArt to not only show my work as an artist who does drawing fanart as a hobby but to also make something of good quality. Moreover, I think it is actually therapeutic to be on here, as I do feel a sense of joy, relief, and gratitude whenever I draw something that I really love and I don’t have to bottle it up. So, I hope you can follow me on DeviantArt, as I do have some interesting things to present. So far, I am really enjoying my time here, as I am really happy getting to know other artists and the work they have done as of late. As for new drawing-related projects, I intend to do something yet again with my four favorite bruisers in all of animated series history, Brick, Butch, Blossom, and Buttercup from The Powerpuff Girls. So here they are from left to right. Rin and Shippou, Kagome Higurashi, Sesshoumaru, Inuyasha, Ayame, and my InuAya fan children, Kenta and Keita. I mainly aged up Rin to be seventeen, Shippou to be fifteen, Kagome to be twenty-four, Sesshoumaru to be twenty-eight, Inuyasha to be twenty-six, and Ayame to be twenty-three. This was something I did back when I was a seventeen-year-old third-year high school student before I transitioned to senior year back in the spring of 2010. I did this as my final project in computer class, but when looking back at this, I realized I should have outlined, hence that’s why it appeared like this. Nowadays, I know better. Okay, enough beating myself up about it let’s get on to the picture itself. As you can tell, I am not only a hardcore Inuyasha x Ayame shipper but I also ship Sesshoumaru and Kagome all the way. Even more so, I decided to bulk up both Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha to make them appear more warlike and badass. For Sesshoumaru and Kagome, I can certainly see them adopting Rin and Shippou to be their own children. Eventually, Sesshoumaru and Kagome would end up having hanyou children of their own to add to their happy family. The family dynamics would work with Sesshoumaru being the stern, strong, and calm father, Kagome being the spirited and doting mother, Rin being the fun-loving and sweet older sister, and Shippou being the adorable younger brother. There’s no doubt I love to ship Inuyasha and Ayame until the ends of the earth. They seem destined for each other. I also gave them their children, namely Kenta who is four and Keita who is three in this picture. I can envision Inuyasha as the manly, strict, brave, and tough dad and Ayame as the equally strong and loving mother. Moreover, I can see Inuyasha training his sons to be a great fighter like him. So, yes, this was something I kind of enjoyed doing when I was in my teens and it still has some sentimentality behind it. Inuyasha belongs to Rumiko Takahashi.
Hello, once again! Antoni, here, with another piece of fan art. As you can see in my picture, it’s Basuli from The Legend of Tarzan, Simba from The Lion King and, of course, Tarzan himself or as I would like to call them, The Wild Jungle Brothers. Their commanding presence, strong bond as brothers, well-built muscles, extraordinary combat prowess, and superhuman athletic abilities are enough to leave any poacher, marauder, destroyer, and/or traitor quaking at the sight! So, don’t mess with these badass, muscular warrior bros. There is no doubt that I love both Disney’s The Lion King, plus its sequel, bits and pieces of The Lion Guard, and a bit of Lion King 1 1/2, and Tarzan, as well as the television show following the movie, The Legend of Tarzan. When it comes to jungle-themed animated installments, a crossover between these two actually seems wonderfully plausible. They are both set in Africa, albeit in different countries, and they balance action with a bit of romance, friendship, and humor. Plus, having a crossover between Basuli, Tarzan, and Simba seems like the stuff of legends because of their overall heroism and the fact that they are super strong Alpha males in their own special ways. To make this fun, for those of you reading and taking a gander at my piece of fan art, I would like to invite you to comment some captions for Basuli, Simba, and Tarzan respectively. The floor is yours and I hope you have fun with commenting your captions. Ever since I was a nine-year-old boy, I was really psyched to see that there was a television continuation of Disney’s Tarzan in the form of The Legend of Tarzan. Even when I was in Hong Kong in a bookstore, I read the original tale by Edgar Rice Burroughs and was actually fascinated that there were actually humans that came to Tarzan’s side of the jungle headed by Chief Mbonga and his son, Kulonga, who ended up killing Kala with his poisoned bow and arrow. This action then leads Tarzan to avenge his foster mother’s death by hanging Kulonga in a tree and stabbing him in the heart with his hunting knife. Eventually, my curiosity was further aroused when I saw a teaser containing an actual African native in the show, something that the 1999 film did not really show. As I watched the show itself, I found out that the African native’s name was Basuli, who is a member of the Waziri tribe. It was from Basuli’s debut episodes, “Tarzan and the Poisoned River Parts 1 and 2”, did I start developing a secret crush on not only him but Tarzan too. If you were in my place and a nine-year-old boy, I am sure you would’ve been ashamed at telling your parents that, but for a girl, it would be no problem. Anyways, as he made further appearances in “Tarzan and the Fountain” and “Tarzan and the Eagle’s Feather”, I grew to love the brotherly relationship these two have. So much so, that I am convinced that Tarzan’s biological parents should have gone to the Waziri tribe’s area, though they would have ended up being brutally murdered by Sabor the leopardess, and it would be up to Chief Keewazi to raise the orphan boy as his own alongside his biological son, Basuli, thus having both boys be brothers. There are definitely highlights from Basuli and Tarzan in the TV show, and those were: the pair of them wrestling each other before Chief Keewazi stops the commotion and introduces Tarzan to the Waziri village, the double roar Basuli and Tarzan gave to the greedy mine owner Ian McTeague, which was their shining moment of all time, and the whole race for the eagle’s feather for Basuli to marry the lovely Naoh. It was a major shame that Basuli was only featured in a total of four episodes because I truly love him as a character and I wish more of him would have been fleshed out. Sure, Tarzan’s, Terk’s, and Tantor’s relationship is basically on the best friends level, but with Tarzan and Basuli there is truly something deeper akin to brotherhood because of how they compete with each other, have certain fights, and, of course, their superhuman physical capabilities, which made that one scene in “Tarzan and the Eagle’s Feather” where Basuli and Tarzan were running, gliding, vine-swinging, and tree-surfing before they find themselves in a strong river stand out to me so much. Special acknowledgment also has to go to Phil LaMarr, who did an amazing job at capturing Basuli’s proud and mighty nature, as well as having an irresistible vocal presence, which, in turn, was applicable in giving Basuli his signature swagger. Even though Tarzan and Simba are from completely different installments, fanfic authors and fan artists find it great to have these two characters interacting with each other. Whether it’s them being good friends or almost akin to brothers or even having Tarzan live in Simba’s area, there are a lot of possibilities of how their relationship can be handled. There was a really good piece of fanfiction called Tarzan of the Lions that I really enjoyed reading during my time as a nineteen-year-old in film school. Unfortunately, the fanfic got deleted by the author himself, as he wanted to focus on writing more original stories or fanfics that are not totally beat per beat with original movies. I forgot who wrote it but it’s safe to say that it’s Tarzan meets The Lion King with the first half having The Lion King’s musical number and the second half being more Tarzan-focused. In that story, Mufasa served as Kerchak, an OC by the name of Uzuri served as Kala, although I would’ve wanted Sarabi to take on the Kala part and have Simba and Tarzan be brothers, Scar is an amalgamation of Tublat and Sabor, and Timon and Pumbaa are still themselves but with hints of…
