Greetings, Splendid Seven devotees, martial arts aficionados, and fighting video game fans. Antoni here with another written entry focusing on Sesshoumaru, Shuran, Inuyasha, Hakkaku, Ginta, Ayame, and Shunran specialising in the martial arts they do. Today, I will be covering the main martial arts spars I have for each pairing. As always, there are three platonic duos, two platonic trios, one beloved OTP, and one fabulous OT3. It is common knowledge that cross-training in various martial arts may be beneficial to the practitioners, but the martial arts they either first trained in or specialise in the most would be the Alpha and Omega of what would define their moves and their skills. This is especially true when two or three main martial arts collide together but end up uniting in order to defeat common opponents. With that said, let us get ready to rumble with my seven favourite Splendid Seven pairings in martial arts sparring forms. Osu. Hajime. Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha (BroTP): Shotokan Karate vs Pankration Focused precision, lethal stealth, fierce bloodiness, and muscular strength are thoroughly combined to breathe life into these two dog Yokai brothers. Sesshoumaru’s acerbic spear-hand strikes, ox-jaw strikes, and knife-hand strikes complement Inuyasha’s barbaric double axe handles, ground-and-pounds, and Superman punches to the point where they would make their enemies tremble at their magnificent strength. All powerfully vicious attacks against their foes aside, both Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha would cherish each other as brothers with all of their hearts and souls, thus genuinely upholding honour and fortitude. Shuran, Hakkaku, and Ginta (BroT3): Professional Wrestling vs Muay Boran vs Lethwei Visceral force, eternal stamina, kinetic velocity, and powerful cooperation are rigorously incorporated to energise these three Yokai brothers consisting of one hulking panther Yokai and two athletic wolf Yokai. Shuran’s crushing piledrivers, sharpshooters, and bearhugs complement Hakkaku’s devastating headbutts, elbow strikes, and overhand punches as well as Ginta’s eviscerating spinning backfists, knee strikes, and shin kicks to the point where they would make their enemies’ bones break. Overlooking their penchant for doing damage to their foes, Shuran, Hakkaku, and Ginta have a brotherhood rich in support and respect. Ayame and Shunran (BroT3): Bokator vs Shaolin Kung Fu Ferocious fortitude, abundant ambition, bodacious beauty, and crafty cleverness are meticulously amalgamated to drive these two Yokai sisters comprising of one fearless wolf Yokai and one winsome panther Yokai. Ayame’s fierce uppercuts, jabs, and hooks complement Shunran’s glorious nerve strikes, palm strikes, and finger strikes to the point where they would make their enemies thoroughly incapacitated from head to toe. Besides delivering collateral damage upon collateral damage to their foes together, Ayame and Shunran truly cherish their sisterhood, which is abundant in allegiance and appreciation. Sesshoumaru and Shuran (BroTP): Kyokushin Karate vs Combat Sambo If the sound of breaking bones and jammed joints reverberates throughout the halls, that could only mean Sesshoumaru and Shuran demonstrating their great cooperation in terms of taking their foes down and making them have a taste of their own bitter medicine. Every time Sesshoumaru’s low kicks, ridge-hand strikes, and roundhouse kicks merge with Shuran’s German suplexes, torture racks, and full Nelsons, their attacks become even more brutal and eviscerating than the last one. Even as the most formidable fighters, both Sesshoumaru and Shuran can still have sufficient time to build each other up well in trust and understanding. Inuyasha, Hakkaku, and Ginta (BroT3): Vale Tudo vs Muay Chaiya vs Sanda Spectators would have an astoundingly amazing time watching Inuyasha, Hakkaku, and Ginta smash, crush, and destroy their foes with every resounding blow they can muster. Whenever Inuyasha’s omoplatas, gogoplatas, and armbars join forces with Hakkaku’s upward headbutts, cross punches, and elbow slashes and Ginta’s front snap kicks, front kicks, and hook kicks, these three would never hesitate to do utter and total damage to their opponents with huge, scary grins on their faces. As much as they revel in full-contact combat, Inuyasha, Hakkaku, and Ginta can encourage and empower each other in inspiration and integrity. Inuyasha and Ayame (OTP): Mixed Martial Arts vs Hapkido Beating enemies up to a bloody pulp then making steamily sexy love to each other may seem like just another daily routine for Inuyasha and Ayame, but it is part of their life as an unconditionally loving couple. Inuyasha’s magnificent muscles can power up his Superman punches, double axe handles, and gogoplatas, while Ayame’s laudable limbs can jettison her liver punches, axe kicks, and wristlocks, as they demonstrate just how awesomely muscles and motion can work. Inuyasha and Ayame are not only strong warriors, but their romantic relationship with each other is rich with unadulterated intimacy and unconditional love. Hakkaku, Ginta, and Shunran (OT3): Muay Thai vs Jeet Kune Do vs Baguazhang There is a multitude of lovely dynamics when Hakkaku and Ginta team up with Shunran to overcome their enemies then find time after their battle to make sweet love to her, for their way of life is a daily ritual they never get tired of. Hakkaku’s sumptuous sinews propel his headbutts, cross punches, and knee strikes just as Ginta’s astounding arms empower his hooks, jabs, and cross punches and Shunran’s furious feet mobilise her split kicks, tornado kicks, and double flying kicks to destroy their enemies. Hakkaku, Ginta, and Shunran bear a lovable three-way relationship steeped with gregarious purity and gorgeous harmony. Introduction Greetings, Blossoomer, Blossutch, Butchubbles, and Boomubbles OTP shippers, it is your old pal Antoni here with another written entry. I am very sure that those of you who have tuned in to my DeviantArt gallery will automatically recognize that I am a hardcore shipper of Blossoomer, Blossutch, Butchubbles, and Boomubbles, therefore keeping Brickercup the monogamous RRB x PPG ship in my Team Xtreme headcanon and making Butch, Boomer, Blossom, and Bubbles polyamorous and eventually polygamous, to the point where Buttercup, Blossom, and Bubbles ended up becoming mothers to sixteen children. The only thing that separates Brickercup from Blossoomer, Blossutch, Butchubbles, and Boomubbles is the fact that Brickercup is strictly monogamous because I can see neither Brick nor Buttercup with anyone else, and that the latter four switch spouses from time to time. Therefore, Butch, Boomer, Blossom, and Bubbles share custody of their children making them the classic case of a blended family. Let us witness how this all came to be one step at a time. How I Solidified Brickercup, Blossutch, and Boomubbles as My RRB x PPG OTPs For Life Like most RRB x PPG shippers, I was a color-coded shipper back when I was quite young being in my early teens, as that was my introduction to the whole phenomenon. However, as I grew into my adult years, I started to realize that Boomubbles was and will always be the color-coded pairing I loved the most. Blossick and Butchercup were starting to lose their flavor before I even knew it to the point where I easily considered Brickercup and Blossutch to be much better alternatives. What made me despise Blossick and Butchercup as couples are not only the monotony, dullness, and blandness found in the color-coded pairings but through re-watching episodes centering on Brick, Butch, Blossom, and Buttercup as well as reading through posts about Karmic Soulmates and the problems that Blossick and Butchercup have as pairings according to other artists and bloggers, I started to completely abandon the Blossick and Butchercup campaign and swiftly headed towards Brickercup and Blossutch territory. It also did not help matters that their overbearing personalities were what made me abhor Blossick and Butchercup with such ferocious intensity. No offense to anyone who continues to ship Blossick and Butchercup as couples but that is just my experience doing the talking. To this day, I could never ever fathom Blossick’s popularity to the point where I would mentally scream every time Blossick appeared when searching for RRB x PPG ships because this couple was extremely overrated and their huge egos, bossy attitudes, and occasional smugness will not have guaranteed them a better and more resolute relationship. As a matter of fact, I managed to see Blossick as one of those pairings that fails so badly because of these two red-clad leaders constantly clashing each other and trying to one-up each other so much that it starts to become repetitive and annoying. The overabundance of Blossick did not even begin to quell my wrath against this particularly over-loved, overrated pairing, as I decided to keep Brick and Blossom as really good friends and comrades-in-arms. As for Butchercup, oh sweet Lord in Heaven, where are the earplugs? Never ever get me started on the loud, stubborn Greens as a couple because they were doomed to fail on the relationship department. All I saw from these two green-clad hotheads were endless aggression, boundless pigheadedness, incessant shouting that would be enough to put nails on a chalkboard to shame, and overcompetitiveness to the point where they could never find any sort of resolution. In short, Butchercup was extremely annoying and my personal solution for these two green hot-heads would be to just platonically ship them as a couple of really great friends who love to kick felons’ butts. Ultimately, I knew that the Reds and the Greens deserved better life partners. It is true that Boomubbles was definitely here to stay because of how their sweetness, lovability, and normality made me want to say yes, yes, and more yes to Boomubbles as my main OTP from the color-coded couples. It was at this point that I also found the best color-clash couple in Brickercup thanks to their spicy intimacy, rambunctiousness, and being a good example of belligerent sexual tension done right and the best color-crack couple in Blossutch thanks to their interesting dynamics, the balance of their personalities, and just how exceptionally well they are able to use their combat strengths to get through any battle. Therefore, the deal was sealed. Brickercup, Blossutch, and Boomubbles were and will always be my main RRB x PPG OTPs for life. Joining the fray of my main OTPs were Mitch x Bunny (Bunnitch) Harry Pitt x Julie Bean (HarJul), and Mr. Green x Miss Bellum (GreenBell), as well as some old favorites like Mike x Robin (Robike), Professor Utonium x Miss Keane (ProfKeane) This got to the point where I made my first set of Blossutch, Brickercup, and Boomubbles children with some help coming from CottonCandyGrl1969 and Misse-the-cat, in which the former drew her Blossutch children to be accepted into my Team Xtreme headcanon and the latter came up with a whole lot more. The overall experience was really fun. However, that did not stop right there. Acknowledging My Full Love for Blossoomer and Butchubbles as My OTPs through KatyGorl and the Many Other Color-Clash Couple Specialists Just when I thought I was extremely content with my main OTPs in the forms of Brickercup, Blossutch, and Boomubbles, especially the latter two, there were a couple of fateful occurrences where my perspective would end up not only changing for the better and more multidimensional but my horizons within Powerpuff Girls shipping would also be broadened, thus making me a lot more blessed to be a part of the Powerpuff Girls community as a whole. Snake, Ace, and/or Bud x All of the Rowdyruffs I do not care if this is going to be a shounen-ai situation for the sake of titillation. It is not going to happen and it will never happen! Brick x Butch x Boomer x Mitch This is quite the epic band of bros. Just add in Mike Believe and it will be a BroT5 for all the ages! Pairings I Really Like Boomer x Buttercup (Boomercup) A cute, innocent pairing between a sympathetic dumb muscle and an athletic brawling beauty. Other than that, it is on the fluffy side. Brick x Bubbles (Brickubbles) This is the sweetest pairing to ever exist between a hot-headed rogue and an inwardly hardcore ingenue. Ergo, Brickubbles may be the second best color-crack couple, in my opinion considering that there is one that rules over this and Boomercup combined, but it might as well be kept within a high school crush scenario. My OTPs for Life Brick x Buttercup (Brickercup) Hot and Spicy Couple for life!!! Butch x Blossom (Blossutch) Watermelon Couple for the win!!! Butch x Bubbles (Butchubbles) Oh, yeah! Happy New Year, ladies, gentlemen, and readers of all ages. I know I have not submitted as much Brickercup month and Blossoomer Next-Gen month fanart as I should have but real life with spending time with my family has been getting in the way as well as some career paths I have to solidify before and once I get to university. However, as you can tell from the title and even though I have been doing this several times, I want to share with you the OTP pairings I have from each cartoon from either Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Disney Channel or any of the animated films I have watched. Here are some rules. Only one pairing or one set of pairings per franchise and do expect some tied entries. With that said, let us begin. 13. Chase Young x Kimiko Tohomiko (Xiaolin Showdown) Out of all the couples I adore from Xiaolin Showdown such as Raimundo x Katnappe, Clay x Dyris and my personal favorite crossover couples Jack Spicer x Princess Morbucks and Omi x Julie Smith, this has to be my most favorite. Chase’s cool, calm, dangerous, collected, and calculating personality is a perfect match to Kimiko’s feistiness, spark, and vivacity. There is a spicy love-hate relationship that can occur between these two especially when it comes to their sense of wit and sharpness as characters. With that said love-hate relationship, comes an unparalleled intimacy that only these two can effectively pull off not only because they look sexy and attractive together but also because of how well these two could easily click. 12. Kitty x Bunny from Courage the Cowardly Dog Ah, “The Mask” from Courage the Cowardly Dog. One of the most poignant, raw, and, dare I say, most beautiful episodes of Courage the Cowardly Dog. My main reason for loving that episode is because of these two lovely female protagonists, Kitty and Bunny. Kitty had to go through Hell and back to find her beloved best friend, Bunny, and Bunny found herself in the abusive hands of the vicious and cruel Mad Dog. Having to witness their tragic backstories made me root for Courage to get these two back together again. Kitty’s and Bunny’s final moment together on the train made me want to root for them as a legitimate lesbian couple all the way through. Sure, there are other Courage couples I support like Courage x Shirley the Medium and the ever-so-canon Eustace Bagge x Muriel Bagge, but Kitty x Bunny is the deal-sealer when it comes to their overall chemistry and the lengths these two have to go through with Courage’s help to be reunited. 11. Jake x Lady Rainicorn from Adventure Time Out of all the couples from “Adventure Time” that I enjoy, this is the one canon couple I have a lot of passion for. Jake and Lady Rainicorn are really sweet together because of their interactions. It also helps that John DiMaggio and Niki Yang emit their superb voice acting chops to bring these wonderful characters to life. Combining Jake’s laid-back, fun-loving attitude with Lady Rainicorn’s innocence and lovability is pure genius and to make this couple more interesting while Jake speaks mainly in English, Lady Rainicorn speaks in Korean, thus making the linguistic dynamics between these two all the more enjoyable to witness, as their barriers will always be broken down. When all is said and done, the genuineness and the sweetness emitted from both Jake and Lady Rainicorn are nothing short of lovely. 10. Gumball x Penny from The Amazing World of Gumball This is probably one of the sweetest couples to come out from this weird yet wonderful show. As much as I am a staunch supporter of Richard x Nicole as a canon married couple and parents to Gumball, Darwin, and Anais, Gumball x Penny has something genuine and sweet. What began as a sort of schoolboy crush on Gumball’s side and cute admiration on Penny’s side turned into something more profound in the episode “The Shell” in which my love for this tween couple is further solidified. 9. Arnold Shortman x Phoebe Heyerdahl from Hey Arnold! Yeah, I know the Arnold x Helga and Gerald x Phoebe shippers are going to be out for my blood and will whine and moan at me that these two couples are canon, but I say screw it all, I have been a loyal Arnold x Phoebe shipper ever since I was seven or eight years old and I am never going to let go of my all-time beloved Hey Arnold OTP. Oh sure, I do love the spice found in Gerald x Rhonda, the genuineness found in Harold x Patty, the cuteness found in both Stinky x Sheena and Sid x Nadine, the interest found in Alan x Helga, and the outlandish lovability found in Grandpa Phil x Grandma Gertie, but Arnold x Phoebe has something special for me. It could be the undeniable fact that Arnold is really well-rounded, idealistic, and helpful to others and Phoebe is mainly book smart and meek to a fault. It could be that they are thoroughly intelligent and savvy individuals who can click so superbly with each other. Moreover, it could be the fact that I see this as the couple that is the definition of it needs more love. I always loved their interactions in “Best Friends”, “Gerald’s Tonsils”, and, of course, “Phoebe’s Little Problem”, as I felt like their relationship was genuine and natural. Ergo, I love Arnold x Phoebe as a couple because of their similarities, their charm, and just how unpretentious they are not only as individuals but also as a pair and I am glad to have made them married in my headcanon. 8. As a mostly RRB/PPG shipper, I realize just how much my tastes have developed, in terms of looking beyond the color-coded pairing and finding the mixed-colored and the color crack pairings even more intriguing that I can ever give them credit for. There have been some ships I ended up loving even more and there are also some ships I love even less. And there are also other ships which are quite fascinating mostly due to the fanart and to some extent the fanfics. Let’s get this show on the row. The Buttercup Ships OTP Pairing: Brick x Buttercup (Brickercup) Ah, the sheer excitement of Brickercup! Me likey Brickercup! Me likey – you’re a big boy now. Stop it! That slightly improvised Lois Griffin quote from Family Guy’s Lethal Weapons aside, I dub this OTP The Hot and Spicy Couple, as Brick the Bludgeoner is the fire to Buttercup the Toughest Fighter’s spice. There’s so much to love about Brick and Buttercup together and there’s never gonna be a dull moment when these two passionate fighting souls are around. From Brick teaching Buttercup new and effective fighting techniques that she can use wisely to him soothing her occasional temper tantrums by being the roguishly handsome charmer that he is to Buttercup giving Brick’s ego a run for its money by taking no crap from him to all of that juicy belligerent sexual tension building between the both of them to that intimacy they have when consummating their feelings. Sure, their romantic relationship is so akin to a crazy yet fun rollercoaster ride, but when one combines Brick’s large-and-in-charge, fiery, independent, street-smart, occasionally book smart, and roguishly charming personality with Buttercup’s feisty, mischievous, tsundere, tough, equally fiery, and rebellious nature they can truly complement each other in almost every single way and, therefore, become a force of nature through their boundless energy, determination, and emotional, physical, and psychological durability. They will definitely give life’s circumstances the middle finger and open up the biggest can of whoop-ass one has ever seen. Their love-hate relationship would begin as childhood frenemies to respecting each other for their fighting skills, so much so where Brick acts as the sensei to Buttercup’s student in combat, to finally finding a soulmate in each other to working off of their temperamental synergy when they date to somewhat mellowing down when they get married but only when the situation calls for it. At the end of the day, Brick and Buttercup will certainly have each others’ backs and stay with each other through thick and thin. Loved Pairings: Boomer x Buttercup (Boomercup) and Mitch x Buttercup (Mitchercup) Starting off with Boomercup, I cannot begin to describe to you how much this pairing has been growing on me at a gradual rate. I can totally understand why this ship, in particular, has its followers and that’s because someone like Boomer can be able to put up with Buttercup’s fiery temperament and she can find him rather amusing and surprisingly tough considering how much he’s been bullied by Brick and Butch, yet still manages to have enough fighting spirit and strength to push through. This is essentially the good bad boy being paired up with the bad good girl, as Boomer is sympathetic and sensitive and Buttercup is rebellious and impulsive. I also consider this ship to be healthy because Boomer and Buttercup can help each other break each others’ walls down, melt the ice that surrounds them, and see that they are a lot more than meets the eye. Plus, they’re the outcasts of their siblings with Boomer being bullied by Brick and Butch, the very guys who are supposed to be his older brothers, and Buttercup being the tomboy who’s not as ladylike nor poised as Blossom and Bubbles. Boomer and Buttercup, therefore, feed off of each other and build trust, empathy, and a close-knit friendship with Buttercup giving Boomer noogies galore and Boomer thinking that Buttercup is the coolest out of her sisters. Boomer would look up to Buttercup for being herself and not take crap from anyone and Buttercup would look up to Boomer for showing so much endurance, guts, and stamina in everything he does. Sure, this ship may not have a lot of supporters considering the uncertainty of how Buttercup would treat Boomer in a harsh, bullying fashion, but I consider Boomercup to be fun, just as healthy as the other Boomer ships, interesting, and also the entertaining case where Buttercup wears the pants in this relationship and Boomer is the more submissive and loyal partner. Overall, I consider this to be a cute, innocent pairing bordering more on the BroTP area, but it’s nonetheless an absolutely endearing pairing in a hilarious fashion. Then we go to Mitchercup. This is definitely a popular PPG/Normie pairing given how Mitch and Buttercup interact with each other. There’s a chemistry that these two have implying that there could be something more than just being friends. They interact with each other in a way that makes them bounce off of each other so effectively and they seem totally chill with each other. This is also appealing because of the whole childhood friend becomes the person’s greater equal when they grow up. Sure, I ship Mitch with Bunny a lot more, but when all is said and done, this has its plausibility. If I were to compare which of these loved Buttercup pairings I care for the most, it would have to be Boomercup because this ship needs a lot more love on how funny, entertaining, and interesting Boomer’s and Buttercup’s dynamics can be. Plus, Boomer and Mitch might as well function as the closest brothers-in-law given that Buttercup is married to Brick in my headcanon, thus also establishing them as really great friends.
